Glory tradition, 30,000 runners, great city, beautiful route, amazing crowed, touching scenes. No wonder people keep coming back for this "People's Marathon". It was cool in the morning, but a little bit too warm for the last few miles.

2016 NAPA Valley Marathon

Cool and wet weather, perfect day for running, this is my third NAPA run, still impressed by the scenic course in the vinery. Great size of the event, a very comfortable run.

Brutal hills, strong head wind, cool temperature, sunny weather, breathtaking view, plenty of cows, creative mileage signs, great organizer, sufficient race support, more international runners, grand finish line, 180 school buses, Juicy strawberries, unique medal, supportive running partners, lots good pictures, nonstop talking on the way, NO CRAMPING, fast recovery, high quality event, best cheerleader and support from family, fun trip, unforgettable experience!

2015 NAPA Valley Marathon
Napa, California
March 1, 2015

23rd full marathon
Cool and Sunny, very beautiful dau in Napa, good for visitors, but too warm for me. Started with right ankle injury, had good path for the first 17 miles, then cramped at mile 18, after long on and off struggle, I made it back with worse record than last Napa run, very disappointing result, but still a good trip. Good organization, decent numbers of runner, impressive course, above average support, worth to come back!

2014 Nike Women's Half Marathon

October 19, 2014

New course setting, perfect weather, but too crowded.

2014 Bank of America Chicago Marathon
Chicago, Illinois
October 12, 2014

22nd full marathon
The Chicago Marathon is one of the major six events in the world. With over 1.7 million spectators lining the 26.2 mile course, nearly 45,000 runners hit the pavement to participate in this year, the weather was a bit warm to me, the course is relatively flat and the view is spectacular, the energy was high and the support was strong to cheer on runners. Smooth organization, great environment, awesome food, attractive culture, made us another unforgettable experience.

2014 The San Francisco Half Marathon
San Francisco, California
July 28, 2014

The weather was perfect, cool in the beginning, sunny after arrival. I was not in the best condition, but feel lucky that I was still able to push and carry all the way through, even on all the hills. Met lot of people, friends, and runners from Taiwan, great experience, great day.

2014 Oakland Marathon
Oakland, California
March 23, 2014

21st full marathon
The weather was too warm for me, and the hilly route between mile 5 to 11 seemed a bit easier to conquer compare with the 2011 run, but it still burned out most of the fuel in my tank. First time ran with three debut marathoners, great honor and experience. The route covers almost every different scenery corner of the city, and I feel the sincere and thoughtful of the organizer for the course arrangement. overall it is still a tough course to run.

2014 Napa Valley Marathon
Napa, California
March 2, 2014

20th full marathon

2013 California International Marathon
Sacramento, California
December 8, 2013

19th full marathon
7,368 runners there to start the race in frigid conditions near Folsom Dam, temperatures were in the 20s before dawn. For the first several miles, we passed cars and front lawns still frosted over from the overnight chill, the water spilling at fluid stations turned to ice on the ground, made the event course "very smooth". Some of the fast people dropped out because the chilly weather, it was a painful run, from start to the finish line, even though we reached the Capitol under blue, cloudless skies, but pride still outweighs cold conditions.

2013 ING New York City Marathon
New York City, New York
November 3, 2013

18th full marathon
The great city, the amazing crowd, the volunteers, the whole experience, created one of the best days in my life, nothing could ever compare, ever. The event begins on Staten Island, winds through Brooklyn and Queens, cross the East River into Manhattan, briefly into The Bronx, returning to Manhattan and ended in the Central Park. It is one of the largest marathons in the world, with 50,304 finishers in 2013, and it's very "International". I could not believe how unbelievably lucky I was able to run in this town, with thousands upon thousands of cheering fans every step of the way.

2013 Tokyo Marathon
Tokyo, Japan
Feburary 24, 2013

16th full marathon
Amazing event, sponsored by Tokyo Metro, from 2013 it is certified as one of six World Marathon Majors. The course starts from Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building - Tokyo Imperial Palace - Hibiya Park - Shinagawa - Ginza - Nihonbashi - Asakusa - Tsukiji, ends at Tokyo Big Sight. There were 303,450 people applied for it and I was lucky to be one of the 36,000 runners. Several unforgettable phenomenon I witnessed in my first Majors experience: unbelieveable organization, super supportive spectators,

2012 California International Marathon
Sacramento, California
December 2, 2012

15th full marathon
The Race started with the strong winds and rain buffeted the start line, gusts knocked down some mile markers along the course, the nasty weather made it a challenge for runners. First time ran with plastic sheets, but it didn't help too much with heavy rain and gusts of 25-28 mph tossed on me. Few die-hard spectators were lining the course, sky turned clear after mile 20, and the race ends at the Capitol. The wet weather actually helped to ease my dehydration issue, running in the storm is an experience I will never forget, my favorite by far.

2012 New York City Marathon
NYC, New York
November 4, 2012

15th full marathon
"While holding the race would not require diverting resources from the recovery effort, it is clear that it has become the source of controversy and division, We would not want a cloud to hang over the race or its participants, and so we have decided to cancel it, we cannot allow a controversy over an athletic event -- even one as meaningful as this -- to distract attention away from all the critically important work that is being done to recover from the storm and get our city back on track." -Bloomberg

I still joined the "Run Anyway Marathon" and ran 2 laps in the Central Park.

2012 The Wipro San Francisco Marathon
San Francisco, California
July 29, 2012

My 6th SF run, it's also the 2nd week training for NYC, I used it as LDS, sticked with the path pretty well and finished strong. With my whole family supported and cheered at the finish line, made this routine event unforgettable.

2012 Surf City USA Marathon
Huntington Beach, California
February 5, 2012

14th full marathon
It was totally a worthy trip even though I had to miss the Super bowl game, the typical southern California classic oceanfront course, the beer garden beach party, the signature surfboard medals, the professional organizer all make this 26.2 an unforgettable run. Not to mention, the place full of countless surfers in sight, sunny beach with palm trees is always an irresistible route for runners, no wonder Huntington beach owns the title "Surf City USA" and this event is always popular. I had very smooth run until cramped at mile 20, got to prepare more salt for my next run.

Two Cities Marathon
Fresno, California
November 6, 2011

13th full marathon
The course starts from Fresno Woodward Park, passes the Old Town Clovis and back to Fresno, overall is flat and scenic. Running on the wide-opened streets with the great view of central California in sight, plus the perfect weather, thoughtful organizer, decent spectators, hot breakfast, and lot nicely done details, it truly created a sweet experience for my untrained run, I am coming back for sure.

The Giant Race
San Francisco, California
August 27, 2011

A 13.1 mile fun run, finished in the AT&T Park, with Tim Lincecum's bobblehead as the prize, the event attracted 10,000 runners, much more than last year. It was a cloudy day, and it's cool to see Giants closer Brian Wilson high-fived with runners at mile 5.

Oakland Marathon
Oakland, California
March 27, 2011

11th full marathon
Oakland city did a great job in providing runners a pleasant experience. Started from downtown, steep uphill between mile 6 to mile 10, then down hill and flat all the way to the end, great course layout. I was plagued by a hamstring cramp with about 15 miles to go, but I still made it back.

Nice course, easy run. Met dad and wife at mile 20, great experience. I made the same mistake as last year that started too fast for first half of the run, ended up with cramped on 6 different spot of my both legs. Finished the last 100 yards with son.

Big Sur International Marathon
Big Sur, California
April 27, 2008

4th full marathon

San Francisco Half Marathon
San Francisco, California
July 29, 2007

new Las Vegas International Marathon
Las Vegas, Nevada
December 10, 2006

2nd full marathon

San Francisco International Marathon
San Francisco, California
July 30, 2006

Debut full marathon
